Ukdiche Modak and Kaju Kesar Modak-Ganesha Chaturthi
Ingredients for Ukdiche Modak
- Rice flour – 200 grams
- Fresh coconut powder – 1 cup
- Small cardamom – 1 teaspoon (finely powdered)
- Jaggery – 1/2 cup (finely ground)
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Salt – a pinch
How to Make Ukdiche Modak
- First, boil 1 1/2 cups of water in a pan.
- Mix salt, ghee and rice flour in it and cook for 5-6 minutes while stirring with a spoon.
- Now turn off the gas and let it cool down a bit
- After cooling, knead it well.
- For the filling, mix coconut powder, cardamom and jaggery and cook it till it dries.
- Now make dough balls.
- Spread each dough in the palms of the hands and fill it with coconut jaggery stuffing.
- Now make it by giving a modak shape
- Now boil water in a steamer or in a vessel and place a sieve over it.
- After this, place a banana leaf on it and place the modak on it.
- Let it cook in steam for 8-10 minutes.
Now your traditional tasting modak is ready, now you can offer it to Lord Ganesha.
Kaju Kesar Modak-Ganesha Chaturthi
Ingredients for Kaju Kesar Modak
- Cashew powder – 100 grams
- Sugar Powder – 100 grams
- Khova – 200 grams
- Saffron – 1/2 tsp
- Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tsp
How to Make Kaju Kesar Modak
- Mix well saffron, cardamom powder, cashew powder and sugar powder in khoya
- Now stir it for 5 minutes while stirring it in low flame.
- After it cools down, make small Modaks.
