Palak Chhole Gravy – By the way, we mostly use spinach for making potato spinach with potatoes, spinach dal with lentils, and spinach paneer with paneer.
Today we will know how to make potato chickpea gravy by mixing spinach with chickpeas, the ingredients used in it are not different, but only the spices and other ingredients used in other vegetables.

Palak Chhole Gravy

Ingredients for Palak Chhole Gravy ( for Chickpea)

Chickpea          – 100 grams(Soaked in water overnight)
Large Cardamom – 2-3
Black pepper         – 5-8
Bay leaf                 – 1-2
Cinnamon                 – 1/2 – 1 inch
Ginger                – 1 inch (finely chopped)
Salt                – as per taste

Ingredients for Palak Chhole Gravy ( for Gravy)

Onion                             – 1 (finaly chopped)
Tomato                          – 1 (finaly chopped)
Oil                          – 2-3 tbsp
Ginger Garlic              – 1 tbsp (Paste)
Bay leaf                  – 1-2
Turmeric Powder  – 1/4 tbsp
Garam Masala          – 1 tbsp
Chole Masala – 2 tbsp
Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
Cumin         – 1/4 tbsp
Green Chilli – 2-3 (Finaly Chopped )
Salt                 – as per taste

How to Make  Palak Chhole Gravy

  • Put black pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and 3-4 cups of water in the soaked chickpeas and cook for 3-4 whistles in a cooker.
  • Now put spinach in a vessel and boil it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Soak boiled spinach in cold water, and grind it in a mixer.
  • To make gravy, heat oil in a pan and add bay leaves and cumin seeds.
  • After that add ginger garlic paste, green chili, and stir with the help of a spoon.
  • Now add chopped onions and tomatoes and stir. 
  • Now add all the spices and mix them with the spoon and let it cook for a while.
  • Now mix spinach and chickpeas, mix well and cook for a while.
  • Add salt and water as required, and let it cook for 5-10 minutes.
Get your spinach chickpea gravy ready, While serving it, you can add cheese to it also for garnishing, And then eat it with roti or rice.
