We can make many chutneys at home and store some of them for a long time. Today we will learn how to make chickpea lentil sauce and what things we need for it.
What do you need – Ingredients for Italian Salsa Piccante 

  • Gram Lentil         – 1 Cup
  • Peanuts         – 1 big tbsp
  • Fresh Coconut 1/4 Cup Grated
  • Garlic          – 5-6 buds
  • Green Chillies  2-3
  • Curd            – 1/4 Cup
  • Salt            As per Taste

For Condiment ( Chhonka )
  • Cooking Oil  1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds  1 tbsp
  • Curry Leaves  6-8
  • Red Chillies  2-3
  • Asafetida            – as per taste

Roast the gram lentil in a Pan on a low flame till they turn pink. Add Peanuts and fry for one more minute. Then cool it slightly. Mix all the Ingredients gram lentil, peanuts, garlic, curd and green chillies and grind it coarsely after mixing it in the grinder or mixture.
After that add salt to it, and place it in a bowl or a pot.
On the other side, heat oil in a pan, then for condiment add curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seeds to it after that add red chillies and roast them lightly and mix the Asafetida.
Then pour this tempering on Chickpea or Italian Salsa Piccante Gram Lentils Chutney ( Sauce ). Serve the tasty chutney as a side dish with snacks or dinner.
